What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy came into use about 200 years ago, and so is a relatively modern system of medicine. It's principles are based upon observing certain laws of nature. This includes understanding the causes of disease, and nature's way to return to health. Naturally occurring, energised medicines are then used as treatment.
While in health our body is continuously cleaning, repairing and maintaining itself. However, for a multitude of reasons, this self-healing process can become blocked, and then we can fall into illness. Homeopathy ‘unlocks’ our vital energy, so that our self healing ability returns. Like fixing a bug in a computer programme, so that the whole system can function properly again.
Second most used Medicine in the world!
According to the World Health Organisation, Homeopathy is the second most widely used system of medicine in the world today. Used by over 200 million people on a regular basis, in more than 50 countries around the world! 1
It is an extremely effective and low cost system of medicine. For that reason it is included in the national health systems of a number of countries e.g. Brazil, Chile, India, Mexico, Pakistan, Switzerland, United Kingdom.
100 million EU citizens, some 29% of the EU’s population, use homeopathic medicines in their day-to-day healthcare. Homeopathy is practised in 40 out of 42 European countries. In France and Germany it accounts for over 40% of prescriptions from medical doctors. 2
10% of people in the UK use homeopathy. That is about 6 million people.
In England it is protected by a royal charter. This was as a result of it's dramatic success in an outbreak of plague in the 1800's.
In the NHS there are approximately 400 doctors working within the homeopathic service. And there are about 1,500 professional homeopaths (not doctors) in the UK
India leads in terms of number of people using homeopathy. 100 million people depending solely on it for their medical care. There are over 200,000 registered homeopathic doctors, with approximately 12,000 more being added every year.
Each one of us is unique. We all have our own unique story, and life experience, that has led to this point.
One of the reasons why homeopathy is so effective is because there is an understanding that there can be many different causes for an illness. So for any given condition there could be 10, or even 100's, of possible remedies that have been known to effect a cure. So a detailed case history is taken to fully understand the individual circumstances and life stresses. Like a medical detective solving the case of how this particular person manifested this condition, in this particular way at this time.
An individualised course of treatment is then selected. Over time this will work through the layers of history back to a state of vital health and wellbeing.
Safe and Natural
Homeopathic medicines do not have a direct physical effect. It is not the same as taking a drug, or even a herbal remedy. Homeopathy works more deeply into the energy body and the psyche, to clear blockages and promote natural healing. Like turning a key in a lock, the remedies activate our self healing ability - often with dramatic results. As energy medicines have no material substance, they can never be toxic and are therefore completely safe.
Integrated Health Care
Both Homeopathy and Energy Healing are complementary to most other forms of treatment. In many cases we can work alongside of modern medicine, or any other form of therapy. This gives the quickest, and most long lasting results.
Homeopathy can also be very effective to help manage the side effects of strong chemical drugs, and promote rapid healing from surgery.
There have been several scientific studies done over the last few years that demonstrate the effectiveness of homeopathy.
